Portrait Study II
Watercolour on paper
From an Ongoing Exploration
This portrait forms part of a continuing exploration of layered watercolor portraiture. The work focuses on structure, tone, and the transparency of layered washes. Each piece develops through accumulation, allowing the image to emerge gradually through the material.
Alongside the still works, I am experimenting with subtle motion studies derived from the paintings. These introduce minimal figurative movement while preserving the character and surface of the original watercolour.

This portrait forms part of a continuing exploration of layered form and tone. I am also testing restrained motion studies derived from the original paintings, introducing minimal movement while maintaining the character of the watercolour surface.
